Writing Centre Coordinator

Arona Dison

Arona Dison is Coordinator of the UWC Writing Centre. She was previously employed as a Teaching and Learning Specialist in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences at UWC. In addition to coordinating the Writing Centre, she contributes to professional development work in the Directorate of Teaching and Learning. She is involved in co-facilitation on the inter-institutional Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (Teaching and Learning) and courses of the Cape Higher Education Consortium (CHEC). Her research interests include the integration of academic literacies into the curriculum; academic and professional literacies and the political ethics of care in relation to higher education. She is involved in UWC’s Apex project on Multimodal Literacies and Pedagogies for Critical Citizenship. She conducted her doctoral research at UWC on research capacity development of individuals in South African research centres.
